At Victoria School of the Arts, you have the opportunity to take beginner dance classes or join a community of students committed to pursuing a career in dance. Under the guidance of dedicated instructors, you will study dance technique, history, theory, composition and music appreciation within each dance discipline. Field trips and the opportunity to learn from guest artists may also be a part of your enrichment. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across arts disciplines.  Dance education is not limited to Victoria School. You are encouraged to participate within the dance community, to attend dance performances ranging from classical ballet to experimental performance art, to take extra-curricular dance classes and to audition for performance opportunities.

• All new Victoria dance students must successfully complete Dance 15 Beginner or Advanced before enrolling in any other dance class.

• Students wanting to enroll in Dance 15 Advanced must successfully complete a placement audition. See audition details

• Students who complete Victoria’s grade 9 dance program and who demonstrate sufficient knowledge and skill proficiency may be placed in a 25 level dance course with permission from the dance department (no retroactive credits will be awarded).
